1.5kg of beef or chicken bones, or both
2 chopped medium carrots
2 chopped medium celery stalks
2tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 garlic cloves
1 medium chopped onion
Water
Salt
Instructions
Put the bones in the slow cooker with the chopped vegetables and garlic. There is no need to peel them. If you have other vegetable scraps, you can add these too as the broth is strained.
Fill your slow cooker with water and season with one teaspoon of salt. Add the apple cider vinegar.
Cook on low for 18-72 hours, only topping up the water if needed.
Strain the broth through a strainer or cheesecloth and leave to cool. Skim and discard any fat.
